- Do not do one of those programs that bring custom designed meals to your door! You'll spend tons of money on the food that costs just a fraction of that at the supermarket. Also, chances are they won't make you happy anyways. Instead, buy groceries to make food that goes with your diet ahead of time, and portion it out; do it on a weekend and enjoy it during the week :)
- Carbs people, you have to cut them down no matter what! It is easy to verify on Google that any notable amount of carb restriction has positie effects on your body, including enhanced weight loss. Cut back on carbs no matter what your diet routine is- the more you cut down, the better. As you do that, please remember to increase your protein and fat to make up for cutting down on the other stuff. I manage to stay below 50g of carbs per day easily, and it shows in the best ways possible ;) If you'd like to know how much that is, look at your typical food labels and you will know. Oh, and before you get all fussy on me and say that 50g is too little on a daily basis, imagine what amazing foods you could have more of instead of eating too much bread, pastries, sweets and all that nasty stuff that tastes good but that's where good ends.
- Fat is good. I have significantly increased my fat intake years ago. I get most of my fat from beef, chicken, coconut oil, avocado oil and grape seed oil. Oh, and from almonds and walnuts. It does wonders for every part of my body, and my doctor confirmed it had no ill effect on my cholesterol levels. Consider how delicious it would be if you had more of the good fats in the foods you already eat! ;)
- Do not bother trying to grow muscle while dieting. It won't work, and fat does not convert into muscle- in case you heard that somewhere and thought it was correct. While trying to lose weight, keep your muscles active but focus on making a nice calorie deficit happen every day. Once you're nice and lean, you can focus on sculpting that body any way you want.
I hope you already know all of these points and they serve as a good reminder to you. If you didn't know some or all of these, I encourage you to take them seriously because they'll enhance any diet and workout routine you have going on. Own it! :)
