Dearest readers, it is a dawn of a new age for all the people benefiting from the healing powers of psychedelics already here in Canada, and for holders of MMED and PSYK (both NEO Exchange here in Canada) just to name a few. Health Canada has recently approved psychedelics for medicinal uses, chiefly Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and MDMA (maybe more, you will have to look into it but these two for sure). While there are strict rules about getting the prescription for either, I am beyond sure that we will move to a complete legalization and proliferation of it as we did with pot. Here, I would like to share with you some things myself and some of my friends who are more in tune with the pot industry have noted are good lessons from pot that we can apply to psychedelics as well for a much better experience that can benefit us in our real, active everyday world. Read on if you find this topic even mildly interesting ;)
First, just as there is difference with alcohol between having a glass of good wine with dinner versus getting trashed on a Saturday night, there exists the exact same approach to pot. Personally, I cannot handle THC well at any dose, but with CBD I have found that I get tremendous benefits when I microdose it. Microdosing, for those who are not familiar with it, is the process of using low amounts of something like pot or mushrooms, often far lower than what people typically do, in order to keep most of your sobriety but get definite, measurable benefits in your everyday thinking, task completion, happiness level and health (think low inflammation, for example). Regardless of the challenges I face in everyday life, I have somehow always preferred things that would get me to something like a Reality Plus versus an escape from reality. I do not think everyone should follow my example, but it is what has worked best for me. Microdosing cbd, for example, makes me not slow down after tough workouts by keeping my inflammation down and it helps keep my stress and anxiety levels down without muddying my thinking process. Now, based on what I read about psilocybin and MDMA, these two are downright life-changing in low doses and with regular use. Instead of listing all of them here, I suggest you do your own research by consulting a variety of sources via Google as well as YouTube; you are guaranteed to get excited as well. However, the key point here is microdosing- everyday real benefits for real people, each and every one of us. This is really important because mushrooms and MDMA have been associated for so long with getting high, tripping, partying and being immature and irresponsible that the companies lining up behind psychedelics need to spend some money to change the image of these lifechanging compounds. It will be no small task, it will not be cheap, but success at it equals millions of willing repeat customers.
How about you, dearest readers? Have you heard any real stories of people using mushrooms or MDMA as a prescription or microdosing them? How did it change their lives? Have you tried any of the currently fully legal and no prescription mushrooms? I have been amazed with what Lion's Mane and Cordyceps have done for me (talk to your doctor or do your own research before you try them, if you decide to do so). Do share and stay awesome until next time! :)
