Dearest readers, we are back in action. Yes, many of you have clicked my Blog button as per usual and found out that I have put up a paywall with Patreon as my chosen platform. Did I get a lot of subscribers? Yes. So, why am I back in this format after tearing down my paywall? Well, I will tell you the entire story right now.
Oh, and before you inquire further, yes I have refunded all of my subscribers completely as it is the fairest possible thing to do.
Being on Patreon was really cool. When you see yourself taking that next step just as many content creators I follow have done at some point in their work, I felt like I was joining their ranks. I increased the number of articles per week, changed up the format and used Patreon as a publishing platform for all of my new articles. I was glad to see lots of great feedback from my subscribers just as I have from all of my readers over the years that my blog has been up and growing.
Then, I had clients chime in. Some of them content creators themselves, some of them in digital marketing, others simply in marketing and advertising. They reminded me of what my motivation originally was for my blog. My original mission statement was to not have a paywall, to offer clients, fans and a handful of discrete friends an insight into how I think, how I feel, and how I often act as a loudspeaker for the society around me as I hold my finger on its pulse. It was a way for me to give back for being blessed to be able to do this line of work well, to have the safety and protection on the level that is rare in this field, and to offer a higher degree of class and sophistication of our overall time together.
That said, I will leave the link to my bitcoin wallet up, and I may set up a tip jar if you want to offer a penny for my thoughts if one or more of my articles really make a difference to you in real everyday life. As for the articles I wrote on Patreon, I will leave them locked down so that only those who were subscribed had a chance to read them. What I will offer to everyone, however, is a greater frequency of article posts going forward. I may also experiment with new formats or media feeds but not right away and I promise to let you know when I launch it.
Let all of us continue the conversation together! :)
