Dearest readers, I don't know about you but I'm having a blast this holiday season. Not only that, but I'm also counting down to this weekend when the NYE fun begins. Reservations have been made, connections have been utilized, and plans are in motion! :) Now, before you start thinking that I'm trying to rub this into faces of anyone who hasn't pulled together awesome Xmas and NYE plans, stop right now haha. I am saying all of this because I want to talk about the one New Year's resolution that most people forget to make. It is to make their next holiday and NYE season better, greater and more amazing than before!
As you may imagine, a socialite like me talks to and listens to a lot of people from all walks of life. I also read quite a bit. As a result, over the last few holiday seasons I have heard more last minute poorly put together plans, and more complaining about holiday shopping and so on than ever before. From people complaining that their last minute NYE date arrangements fell through, to people complaining about not getting the right gifts because they shopped last minute, to people ending up alone for Xmas and NYE, I've seen and heard it all. Unless you end up in a sudden, really bad situation for the holidays, this can be avoided altogether by making a resolution to do better next year! Here's how.
First, you have to realize that you have an entire year to plan your holiday season. You can take all that time to identify what sorta holiday and NYE you want to have, how many gifts you have to buy, dinners and parties you have to attend and so on. If you feel there's a danger of you ending up alone, you have a whole year to make sure that doesn't happen. With this much time to get all your ducks in a row, failure is not an option.
Second, don't be one of those people who has delayed dieting, limiting alcohol and overspending for so many months that you end up deciding to draw the line on it all in the middle of the holiday and NYE season! ;) Let's face it- it's pointless to pretend it's possible to get through it without spending, eating and drinking a lot so don't be a downer by trying. Cut back a little before the season, then celebrate the season the way it's supposed to be celebrated.
Third and final piece of the puzzle is to not get influenced by all the bitter people out there who lost their holiday spirit and now see a happy, festive time as a bother, a hassle and a big expense. And remember, in this case, if you can't beat them- DON'T join them haha!
So there we have it, dearest readers- my secret to making this holiday and NYE season really amazing. It's simple and effective, so if you haven't tried it yet, I encourage you to do so :)
