Dearest readers, if you were to ask me to choose between THC and CBD, I would pick CBD exclusively, any time. One of the biggest revelations that changed my life some years ago came from a single question: Is my ability to grasp the world around us, my own life and the feelings I have towards ideas, circumstances and other people tainted by supplement and beneficial compounds deficiencies? Put simply, do these deficiencies make life, people and ideas much worse than they really are, in a way that is detrimental to my life prospects? Having asked myself this, I went on a months long research streak in my free time, leveling up along the way :) Now, I know the answer, and that answer is: Yes! This answer is not just for me, but also for other people. So, dearest readers, have a look at some of the things that benefit me on a daily basis and definitely help me approach everything in my life from a much better place than without them.
First, let us talk about sleep. I have two ways of making sure I get enough sleep that are more of a first aid kit when I stray from my internal clock, and one I use daily. Any time my internal clock goes out of whack, I like to take either the lowest dose of 5-htp (over the counter supplement section in most major drug stores or on Amazon) which converts into serotonin, a major mood stabilizer. At night, it converts into melatonin (more or less) and helps you sleep. If I do not feel like going that route, I take the lowest possible dose of melatonin. While I have a friend who tried a high dose of 10mg before sleep and had mind shredding nightmares almost every time, I noticed that half a milligram (half of the smallest dose available in stores) is generally good enough for me, not to knock me out but to help me get to sleep and rest better. I do this for just a few days at a time and I am usually fine for a while after that. On a daily basis, however, I drink either organic chamomile, chamomile and lavender blend, or more recently the blue tea (yes, very blue and it looks like paint when you put cream in it) also known as butterfly pea tea. Dearest readers, teas really work better than many of you may think- so long as you cover them and let them brew for five minutes or so.
In terms of vitamins and minerals, here and there I get low on zinc and Vitamin D and it shows. Fixing my levels for both puts me in a much better mood and I am able to act and think more optimistically and become more solution rather than problem oriented. I recommend you test your vitamin and mineral levels now and then to see what you are missing because, in all honesty, vitamin and mineral deficiencies should be seen as illnesses as they really have far reaching and often escalating consequences for your physical and mental health.
Finally, I will touch on a specific supplement that has had the greatest impact on me and the benefits it gives me keep growing! I am talking about lion's mane mushrooms, or rather their carefully processed extract in pill form. I am a huge supporter of medicinal mushrooms and have seen more than one fascinating documentary about them. Along with reishi, cordyceps and others, lion's mane seems to have amazing health benefits for us humans. From a list of numerous benefits, I would like to point out their ability to help our brain function by promoting brain cell growth, promoting healthy nerve growth which makes your brain smarter by the way, boosting the hippocampus (a part of the brain that processes memories and emotions), and controlling bodily inflammation to an extent. Truly amazing stuff.
Finally, if you want to participate in the world from a good place, you have to keep inflammation down in your body, as it is a major cause of background, chronic pain that always seems to be there. Personally, I use low doses of cbd oil to keep my inflammation down, and you may want to look into it as well regardless of whether you are 18 or 88.
There you have it, dearest readers- something practical and hopefully useful that is also a major part of my life. If you have your own combo of vitamins, minerals and supplements that you would like to share, I would love to hear about it. Until next time, get Limitless and/or stay Limitless ;)
