Dearest gentlemen- you heard me say this before. I think that the combination of social media, microtransactions and crowdfunding (and A.I. now) is going to experience explosive growth and next level viability for individual users vs large businesses. The other day, I saw an example of it that really tickled my fancy haha, and it demonstrates another way in which this is evolving. I think many, many more of us are going to end up benefiting from this.

So, while going through my TikTok feed, I noticed something new. Apparently, there is a guy in the States who prints and sells "How's My Driving?" signs; he also records himself handling calls from people who call the number on the sticker to complain, and he does it in such a troll-licious way that I could not stop laughing! :P So, he has funny content people want to follow, reasonable prices, added value... it is a winner product and service combo! Also, this is something that works well part-time, can scale if necessary, and if not well then you just take your profit and put some or all of it into the next idea!
There is another such channel with a guy, a black cat with sunglasses, and cards against humanity- he has merch too. The guy takes questions from people- often those who pay- and the cat picks from a selection of face down cards against humanity for an answer- and it is beyond funny! :P Now, what would be even cooler is if some of these things could be done in a crowdfunding way where the money could be collected ahead of time such as with Kickstarter, but also with some measures in place to protect against fraud. Or, and this I have not seen yet- people who have social media on certain topics and they have weekly or monthly dollar amount goals for charity donations chosen randomly from the list that the fans of this person's social media would align with, and then a majority percentage of money given to the person is donated by that person to the charity!
Overall, dearest readers, I think that microtransactions and all business models (especially part-time solopreneur ones) based on them are still very niche and very limited. Through Kickstarter, games like Clash of Clans, and platforms like OF, people have been getting used to microtransactions being a things. Now, I think we will see the rapid evolution of them becoming a large chunk of many people's discretionary spending (most people, in fact). One of the best ideas so far this year is to see if you fit somewhere in there not just as a consumer, but as a producer/provider. :)
